Grateful for Life and Dandelions

Last night I came across a post at Life and Dandelions, which Annie wrote for her son on his 18th birthday.

For me this post has been a reminder of what’s important:

  • Before I know it my children will be all grown up, too. All the frustrations of living with demanding messy pre-school people who more often than not choose to ignore every word I say will be over. Only memories will remain and the relationship we have built over the years. This realisation has made me treasure every second with my little horrors so much more than usual.
  • None of us is perfect and it is not necessary to be perfect. As long as we do our best and do it with love, it will be good enough.

I am grateful for this timely reminder and for the wonderful day at the beach with my family today.

P.S. I got interrupted twice writing this post. First my daughter fell off her mattress on the floor, then my son fell off his bed… Who is next?

Wow, they’re falling out of bed like flies at your place tonight!

I remember this post that Annie wrote… she is a beautiful writer and her perspective is always welcomed by me. I doubt I’ll ever miss the sleep deprivation, but maybe those middle of the night cuddles!? x

It’s always so good to remind ourselves of the most important things in life. Thanks for the reminder!

Hope everyone managed to stay in their beds last night;)

I thought I put in my thought…yes time does not wait for anyone…my two have left the nest now..but I cannot regret the time and different stages I shared with my kids…so enjoy every moment….unfortunately a moment one looses will never come back so make the most of it xxx

It is a great reminder that this is a short phase in our lives and, while it is hard to find every moment endearing and amazing, it is important to take the time to notice stuff x

I think we all need to be reminded about how precious time is with our children; it’s easy to just forget and let life pass us by. Lovely post.

    Thanks for the reminder.
Last week the boys had gastro…our home was a war zone.
But in the grander scheme of things…some disgusting nappies and vomit…it’s nothing.
    Just an inconvenience.
Life is beyond and more precious than all of that.

P.S Hope your munchkins have managed to stay safe in their beds :-)

Before you know it they will be messy teenagers who don’t listen to a thing you say… ;)

My eldest turned 17 today – scary stuff!

I’ve never thought about it like this… I guess some things never change.

So true! I often look forward to when my (3 under 3) kids are more able to do things for themselves. I get so sick of never being able to sit down! I know that when my kids are grown though I will really miss these times. I really do love having little ones.
