Last night I came across a post at Life and Dandelions, which Annie wrote for her son on his 18th birthday.
For me this post has been a reminder of what’s important:
- Before I know it my children will be all grown up, too. All the frustrations of living with demanding messy pre-school people who more often than not choose to ignore every word I say will be over. Only memories will remain and the relationship we have built over the years. This realisation has made me treasure every second with my little horrors so much more than usual.
- None of us is perfect and it is not necessary to be perfect. As long as we do our best and do it with love, it will be good enough.
I am grateful for this timely reminder and for the wonderful day at the beach with my family today.

P.S. I got interrupted twice writing this post. First my daughter fell off her mattress on the floor, then my son fell off his bed… Who is next?
