A couple of weeks ago I received an email that brought tears to my eyes.
Newborns and young babies found on roadsides. Vulnerable young mothers who must choose between abandoning their baby or keeping them in the knowledge that, with no food or shelter, they could die. This is the reality in Uganda witnessed by Child’s i Foundation volunteer Bec Nielsen.
In the midst of poverty and heartbreak Bec also found hope. Hope is what the work of Child’s i Foundation is all about. ‘Child’s i Foundation is committed to making sure these young, frightened and vulnerable mothers have another choice and our aim is for every baby that comes into our care to have a family and a future. ‘ (quote from Bec’s email).
Child’s i Foundation is now running an online baby shower, where people can purchase a Mother’s Day gift, instead of the usual chocolate and flowers. Here are just some of the wonderful gifts that are available. The recipient of your choice will get a handwritten card featuring a beautiful baby.
Giving love makes a difference, too. Follow on Twitter, like on Facebook, spread the word on your blog.
Choose something different this Mother’s Day. Give Hope.

What a wonderful idea. I am absolutely going to participate this mother’s day
