Trains and crochet

My son’s love for trains is no secret. His first tree-word sentence was ‘I love toot-toot’. When I was pregnant with Little Monkey and I needed a break, I’d take Big Boy to Central Station. He would watch the trains for hours while I had lunch and a coffee, and read a book. Central Station wouldn’t be most people’s choice of a place to relax, but it was my top pick.

It’s not surprising that while I was looking through crocheting patterns on Ravelry, the one pattern that caught Big Boy’s eye was that of a train. I enjoy crocheting, but I not sewing the pieces together and this particular pattern a lot of different pieces, so I tried to ignore my son’s requests. No luck. Eventually I had to give in or I wouldn’t hear the end of it.

I tried something new this week, I crocheted a train.

Now I have a very happy Big Boy.

How clever are you! That is such a cute little train. I’ve tried to crochet – but it just never seems to work. There is something so relaxing about the motion of doing it thou. Maybe I should try again.

Aren’t you clever? I love how you’ve used your creative side to make something your son will love. And it seems you couldn’t have gone wrong!

Thanks for trying something new, and mostly for linking up this week! Have a wonderful weekend. xx

Oh, that’s just adorable. I need to get back on Ravlery. It’s been ages! I also haven’t done my knitting for quite a few months (thanks to blogging). I’d love to learn to crochet, but have been too hooked on knitting to learn (no pun intended!!)
