Grateful for peace

My grateful post for last week comes a bit late, but better late than never…

I’ve just spent a couple of days at a meditation retreat at Nan Tien Temple.

Nan Tien Temple

At the end of the retreat the teacher asked us what we had learned. I didn’t know. I hadn’t come to learn. Well, in a way I had, but I was mainly there because I was longing for some stillness and solitude that would take so much more effort to find at home.

Maybe I’ve taken away something that I’ll be able to apply in my daily life. I hope I have. But right now I’m grateful for the feeling of peace that I’m still carrying with me. Even if I haven’t learned a single thing, this is enough.

What a neat experience and I love your honesty about not knowing right now what you learned. Maybe something will come to mind when you least expect it. My children are grown and I still forget to meditate, so thanks for the reminder.

I’m sure you returned home feeling renewed and rejuvenated. It’s so lovely to getaway for a few days break. Quite necessary from time to time xx

Maybe without really knowing it, you did learn something :) And that is appreciation for the gift of peace. Not everyone realizes that, right?

Hello Tat, there is nothing sweeter than a bit of peace. And a little goes a long way for a mum.

We’ve driven past that temple many times and I have often thought that I must find out more, visit there… your post has given me a boost.

In case you are interested, they have a program for kids there on the weekends. My family came to pick me up on Sunday and the kids got to participate in a play, play the drums, sing and dance and … have lots of lollies (can’t go anywhere without getting lollies these days). They are still acting it out at home every day.

Hi, I'm Tat. I believe that through motherhood we're given another chance to find ourselves, grow and shine. I have three beautiful children and I learn a lot from them every day. This year I'm searching for ease in everything I do.More about me and my blog »
